MYCOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF INDIA

Mycological Society of Indian (MSI) is a scientific body constituted for the advancement in the subject of Mycology, the study of Fungi including mushrooms, molds, truffles, yeasts, lichens, plant pathogens, and medically important Fungi. The Society was founded in January 1973 by a team of Mycologists led by Professor C.V. Subramanian, Former Director, C.A.S. in Botany, University of Madras, Chennai, India, with a view to bring together Mycologists of the country and with the broad objectives of promoting development of Mycology in India in all the prospects and in the widest perspective.

ORGANIZERS

SHRI SHIVAJI SCIENCE COLLEGE, AMRAVATI
The College began in 1958 under the aegis of Shri Shivaji Education Society Amravati, the Second Largest Educational Society from the state of Maharashtra founded by Shikshanmaharshi and Krushiratna Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh, the First Union Agriculture Minister of India.
Over the span of 52 years, the college has earned the reputation of being the premier institution for imparting formal education in the science stream from the Central India. The quality parameter in the higher education has been endorsed by NAAC, Bangalore by conferring "A Grade" with CGPA of 3.10 in reaccreditation and UGC by awarding a status of "College with Potential for Excellence". The Physics, Zoology, Bioinformatics, Computer Software, Ground Water Exploration and Watershed Management are also available. The college also provides research facility through recognized research labs in Botany, Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics, Statistics and Zoology.

SANT GADGEBABA AMRAVATI UNIVERSITY, AMRAVATI
Established on 1st May, 1983, the auspicious Maharashtra Day & Worker's Day. This University geographically covers the western Vidarbha belt (i.e., five districts - Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana and Washim) of Maharashtra State. The University, in its small span of two decades, has contributed in many ways for economic, social and cultural upliftment of the society by offering quality education. The Motto of this University is - "Education for Salvation of Soul". The University is recognised under Section 12(B) of UGC Act. The University is also an associate member of Association of Commonwealth Universities, London (U.K.). The University has 10 faculties which includes Arts, Commerce, Sciences, Medicine, Ayurved, Education, Social Science, Law,Home Science, Engineering & Technology. The University has facilities to offer post-graduate & advanced education in Computer, Biotechnology, Business Management, Law & degree courses in Chemical-Technology. University values research as evidence that teaching programmes are underpinned by a solid base of latest knowledge and advanced techniques.

Mycology plays a vital role in the basic as well as applied field of studies such as fermentation, ecology, pathogenesis, antibiotic production, toxicities, mushroom and mycorrhizal technology. The past six decades have witnessed phenomenal progress in mycology encompassing significance for meaningful utilization for discovery of novel biomolecules including drugs and industrial enzymes has gained considerable momentum. In near future, mycologists have to play a pivotal role in identification of novel germplasm resource pools, understanding product manufacture in relation to mold morphogenesis and developing innovative techniques.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts conforming to the themes of the conference are invited for presentation. Abstracts should not exceed more than 300 words typed in MS word font size 12 pt in Times New Roman in single line space. The presenting author should be indicated by an asterisk. The other standard technical guidelines for botanical descriptions should also be followed by the authors. Researchers participating for young Scientist award should be below 35 years of age and submit full length paper at the time of abstract submission with special mention.
